Historic Bruce Street School
I am part of a studio team that has been commissioned by the Arabia Mountain Heritage Area Alliance to redesign the ruins of the first Black primary school in DeKalb County, Georgia. In our community engagements, we use sensorial and haptic activities to scaffold the community to share their knowledge and dreams of the site. Most recently, we crafted a design futures engagement for the community to fill in their visions for what the space may look like. We are now in the concept design phase of this project. This is ongoing work that will wrap up on Juneteenth of 2022.
